Please be with us now.
Help us reconcile the horrific changes in our country at this time,
Let these changes be like the chrysalis of a butterfly,
And let us roll in the primordial, creative soup,
And know that we are evolving, for better or worse.
Know that we will not be the same, and that those changes forced on us
Will eventually melt away, creating something
Stronger,
More resilient,
Beautiful,
Powerful,
Creatrix of our own destiny.
Let us not forget that empathy is the most important sin of all,
The sin of understanding and being with, not just feeling sorry for.
Let our wings carry that sin of empathy, and spread it like pollen
Across the land, and let that sink into the minds of the troubled and weak,
Letting them know that we stand with them, and that we love them, and that
For now, we will carry their burden and protect them to the best of our abilities.
May we remember that foxgloves, daisies, tulips… they are pollenated by us,
And we have the power to take that away!
We ask for mercy, strength, and resilience so that we can withstand this onslaught.
May the Universe treat them as they have treated all of us, and may they learn
That if empathy is a sin, let it be the greatest sin of all.
